I wanted to show the inherent beauty of Black natural hair.”For Black women and children, wash day is equal parts essential maintenance and self-renewal. Tomesha FaxioIn the series of portraits that make up “Wash Day,” Faxio sat with 26 families and took photos as they went through their distinct routines. We talk often, after all, about the obsession with hair being “done” and the intra-communal shame that sometimes comes with natural hair. For us too, wash day is a high energy sport — and it’s also a bonding exercise that neither of us will forget. Tomesha Faxio

As someone who worked as a Starbucks barista for over a year, here are some of the biggest red flags to look out for. It's not always wise to mobile-order a drink with cold foam or shaken espressoCold foam won't last that long on top of a drink. Mary Meisenzahl/InsiderCold-foam cold brews have boomed in popularity over the past few years — pumpkin cold foam, Irish-cream cold foam, almond milk-honey cold foam, the list goes on. A little mixing can taste nice, but you lose the texture of the cold foam, which is a delight in itself. The same principle applies to any shaken espresso drink.

Stretch 3: Hamstring stretch with a twistWhile standing, facing your couch, bend into a semi-squat position with your knees just above 90 degrees. Jeramey Lutinski is in a love triangle with Laura Dadisman and Sarah Ann in the pods. AdvertisementThere's no shortage of messy love triangles on "Love Is Blind" season six. We also see Jeramey telling Amy he does want to meet Sarah Ann, and then later (presumably post-trip) meeting with Sarah Ann, who refers defensively to a message she sent Jeramey. Most shockingly, Laura then confronts Jeramey over hanging out with Sarah Ann and talking until 5 a.m. Given their big argument and the hints that things aren't quite done between Jeramey and Sarah Ann, it seems like Laura and Jeramey's future could be in jeopardy.

In total, heart disease claims the lives of 1 in 5 people. Cardiovascular disease is extremely rare at this age. Wen: There are definitely ways to improve heart health at these ages, too. It applies to people of all ages, but older people may face some challenges in an often-overlooked determinant of heart health: social connection. Loneliness is an epidemic in the United States and globally, and is associated with many negative health effects that include worse cardiovascular health and early mortality.

Shakira reached a deal to resolve charges that she failed to pay Spanish income tax from 2012 to 2014. Spain accused her of improperly filing taxes to the Bahamas when she spent the majority of her time in Spain. Remote workers should take extra care when filing taxes to avoid US penalties. The New York Times previously reported that Americans who pay a foreign income tax might be able to get a deduction when filing their US tax return, but it depends on the foreign country's tax rules. Still, some visa programs allow visitors to work remotely while avoiding a local income tax for under a year.

Workers using OpenAI's ChatGPT may actually perform more poorly than those who don't, new BCG research finds. AdvertisementAdvertisementIf you're using ChatGPT as a shortcut at work, you may want to be extra careful. For tasks "inside the frontier," consultants using AI were "significantly more productive" and "produced significantly higher quality results" than those who weren't using the chatbot. BCG's findings demonstrate a cautionary tale for workers thinking about using ChatGPT to help do their jobs. AI-generated errors may only get worse: In a recent paper, AI researchers found that generative AI models could soon be trained on AI-generated content — a phenomenon they call "model collapse."

Dollar eases from 10-month high but on track for weekly gain

The U.S. dollar index eased from a 10-month high on Thursday but remained on track for a weekly gain, and investors stayed on guard for potential intervention in the yen as it holds near 11-month lows against the U.S. currency. "The dollar in this environment is benefiting from both higher yields but also more jittery risk sentiment," said Vassili Serebriakov, an FX strategist at UBS in New York. "Global yields are rising, but with the U.S. economy outperforming the U.S. dollar still looks attractive." Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said on Thursday that Japan would not rule out any options if there was any excessive volatility in currency moves, warning against speculative yen moves amid the currency's fall. The dollar was last down 0.27% against the Japanese currency at 149.23 yen, easing from an 11-month high of 149.71 on Wednesday.

Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay is leaving for Amazon after the company made budget and staff cuts, canceled products in his division, and amid discussions about a reorganization in his unit, insiders say. Microsoft, Panay, and Amazon did not comment. During nearly 20 years at Microsoft, Panay was notably in charge of the team that developed the Surface hardware business. Windows licensing and the unit's hardware underperformed relative to the company's financial projections, insiders say, and Microsoft responded by dramatically scaling back Panay's division. At Microsoft, insiders say Panay was known as a demanding leader and expected "white glove service" on everything, meaning a premium experience with extra care and attention to detail.

An artificial womb for humans would be a scientific advance that could help solve a major health problem. An artificial womb is not designed to replace a pregnant person; it could not be used from conception until birth. The artificial womb could be able to help the baby develop further through those vital final stages when the lung and brain are developing. In each study, the artificial womb is constructed a little bit differently. If an artificial womb was ultimately approved for use with humans, doctors will have to have conversations with parents about how successful such an intervention could be.
